1. Where our information comes from

Plan details on this site come from the Energy Product Reference Data feed, a public data feed published by the Australian Energy Regulator (AER) under the Consumer Data Right. Energy retailers supply this data to the government. We download it, process it and present it in rankings, scores and estimates.

2. The information may contain errors

• The government feed may be incomplete, out of date or contain mistakes made by retailers.
• Retailers can change prices, feed-in tariffs and conditions at any time, and our copy is only as current as the date shown on each page.
• We may make mistakes when processing the data, for example when interpreting time-of-use rates, daily limits or eligibility conditions.
• Scores and yearly bill figures are rough estimates based on the household you choose. They leave out discounts, fees, demand charges and your actual usage pattern.

3. Always confirm with the retailer

Before you sign up to any plan, check the current price, feed-in tariff, fees and eligibility conditions on the retailer's own website or its energy fact sheet (Basic Plan Information Document). You can also check the plan on Energy Made Easy or, in Victoria, Victorian Energy Compare. The retailer's offer is the only one that applies to you.

4. General information, not advice

PowerPicker provides general information only. It isn't financial, legal or professional advice and doesn't take into account your circumstances. You're responsible for your decision to choose or switch a plan.

5. Not affiliated with the government or retailers

PowerPicker is independent. We aren't part of, endorsed by or affiliated with the AER, Energy Made Easy, Victorian Energy Compare or any energy retailer. Retailer and plan names belong to their owners.

6. How we make money

We don't currently earn anything from retailers. If we add links that pay us a referral fee, we'll label them clearly, and they won't change the order of the rankings. See how we rank plans.

7. Links to other websites

Links to retailers and government sites are provided for convenience. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content.

8. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, PowerPicker isn't liable for any loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, information on this site, including errors or omissions in the data. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that can't lawfully be excluded.

9. Quoting this site

You may quote the rankings on this site if you credit PowerPicker and link to the page you used.

10. Changes

We may update these terms at any time. The version on this page applies from the date shown at the top.
